Want better gas mileage? Here are some tips..

I recently have gotten as high as 30.79 MPG in a 1997 3.2 TL

How?

- Engine, transmission are in excellent condition.

- Low rolling resistance tires (Toyo 800's)

- stock wheels (rather than larger/heavier wheels)

- Tires inflated to 35 psi front, 33 psi rear

- Cruise control set to 70 mph.

You'll notice a big drop in fuel economy just going 80 or 85 mph. If I'm not in a hurry, I'll just keep it at 70 and drive without worrying about a visit from the local law officer

Totally agreed. You're getting better than I've gotten in my 2.5 driving at 100km/hr (60mph).

My gas mileage in that car went WAY down when I bought high-traction tires instead of low rolling resistance ones.

uh yea, waste of money. Even worst, it can damage your motor if it breaks.

both though impede the flow of air. The motor is in a constant vaccume and the motor is fuel injected. On a carbed motor, i could believe that something like the vortex/tornado might do something, but on a fuel injected motor, i don't think so.
