I have been reading about some earlier posts about turbos but never saw any good reaponses. So I was just wondering if anybody ever found out how much it would cost for a turbo? And yes I do know other engine mods would need to come before but Im more than willing to do that if I could just find a turbo. i think the 4 cylinder accord turbo will work with our cars (2.5) if modded correctly. if you have a 3.2 i would assume most turbos out there for v6's would work? i dunno. i guess you just have to find a place to put it....

 

turbo would be interesting. I would rather put in Nitrous.

Well Im also going to do nitrous. My friend has a garage that does engine rebuilds for $4,000. But since Im gonna have all new fuel injection and engine "beefing up" along with the tubo and nirtous it will most likly end up around $10,000. I might do this process in steps ie build up then turbo then nitrous. But anyhow I guess I should just talk to the engine build up people and see what they can do for a turbo. Who makes the accord turbo that we can use?

 

greedy more than likely makes a turbo for the 4 cyl accord... on a more serious note it is really not worth it that much to make your car fast .. with the money your gonna spend compared to the figures your going to get out of the engine after everything is said and done you will probably be running high to mid 14's ...

its up to you but if you want a way to make a car fast and want to get the best results then go with either a 92-95 civic hatch or a 96-98 hatch ... they only weigh around 2000 compared to our 4000 and if you do the samething to that engine(if its a decent engine) that you would to ours then you would be getting alot better results all around

 

I like Acura and have forever. There is no way I would buy a honda! However I want to make my car fast just for the hell of it not to just torace. My friend did an engine rebuild on a Blazer! This is an SUV. He did not do it to race but just to have a nice ass blazer. I would like to do the same on my TL. My future ride once I get my engineering degree and make the big $$ Im gonna buy my dream car. The NSX Until then I want to keep my TL and since im approching 100,000m and I need to rebuild the engine anyway I figured might as well add a turbo and nitrous.

Ya I agree. Your driving a honda weather you like it or not. I admit Acura's are made much better, but basically same appearences and etc.

 

Reefers: yeah honda is acura and vice versa. take for example doing an engine swap from a civic engine with a integ engine. it fits perfect with no mods. on the other hand, lude engine into a accord need mods but you get the idea...

speaking of luxury cars, how come honda dont make any luxury cars?? (S2000 is not considered a luxury car..its a sport car) acura makes sports and luxury.. hmmmm

 

im not gonna keep arguing my point. but the fact is if they were the same, Acura would not be more expensive. Yes Im not retarded I know honda makes Acura but its NOT A HONDA ITS AN ACURA. S2000=****. Ill take a luxery sport car over that piece any day. For example my dads Jag XK8 or my dream car the NSX. S2000 is a honda and like I said I will neverever drive a Honda. An acura(made by honda) yes but a chap non luxury honda I wont drive. I know this post might sound like im angry but im not just sharing my opinion.

 

And an s2000 is not luxurious. Like I stated above my dads jag thats luxurious. I doubt the S2000 has wood trim ect...All it is, is a sport car for wanna be's. No way an S2000 could roll with true luxery sport cars no way.

Well back on the subject of the thread all of your input has been good so far but one question still looms. How much for the turbo and what is your best guess on installation price?

 

lets go race guys...our cars only weigh 59378956598789 lbs. we can prolly spank a burban or gator. i beat an 18-wheeler just last night...

 

like I said above its not to race but after i get the tubo lets meet up and you can put your money were your mouth is. Like i said its not to race but bring with a turbo and nitrous i can guarentee Ill woop most cars asses on the road no matter the weight of my car. If you want a turbo you gonna have to get in custom made, you can use any turbo you want from any car the thing is that you would have to get a custome header so the turbo will go on your car, also would have to get custom downpipe and intercooler pipes. Then after that you might need to upgrade your rods and pistons and such and all that gotta be custom.. Another issue is the tranny with the added HP the tranny might not hold. Hondas trannys suck....

Many people may think its a dumb idea...... since the tl is heavy and other things...but hey if you have the money then do it....

Acura and Hondas are the same. They might be different a by just a little bit but made by the same company.. and i think a maxima is faster than that i30 you talkin about....Especially since Maximas comes in 5 spd and i think i30 is heavier neways...

Well......I not gonna race just want a fast car. Try to argue this point a turbo and nitrous on a heavy car still makes the heavy car faster right? That is why im doing it. i love the TL. Just want to make it faster thats all. And **** maxima Ill take the I30 regardless of how fast it is. What I like is a mixture of luxery and speed. A TL gives me luxery and the turbo would give me speed. Thats all. Not to race, however smoking my dads jag will be fun . I wish you all could just see my point of view. Thats all im saying. Not to race but to have a car faster than most on the road. If you think about it with a turbo and nitrous regardless of the weight the car is still gonna fly!You cant argue that. And I do know about the other mods I have already planned on that. All I wanted to know is turbo price?

I dont dont take it personally at all Just sharing my opinion. I have already bought a tight ass system if you want me to tell you about it just shout. I agree to I do need some rims. What are your suggestions on rims? I also with the system I have put neon all over the car. I have an under kit just have not gotten installed yet. im wating until summer.

 

guys guys guys. all i have to say is that i support reefer. i love making my car unique. and if it's by the way of putting a turbo in there or NOS or whatevers, then that's how it's gotta be. having those mods doesn't mean he's a hardcore racer. it's just like having a competition sound system. it doesn't mean that you're gonna be maxing it out at all times. It's something for SHOW. just like the turbo is something to show off on the streets. if i had the money, i'd jump on the idea of an engine swap or making my car a lot faster.

Boston 6x9 component coaxial in the back
these speakers run on a 100x4 Xtant amp
3 boston 12" pro series subs, 4 ohm
subs run an xtant 1000w amp
Each amp has a 1 farand monster cap
subs are enclosed in a custom fiberglass box color matched to the car and neon
Kenwood Excelon deck(the one that flips around when the car is off)
and a kenwood 10 disc CD-changer

This set up was around $10,000 (including the car alarm ) dont want nobody stealin my ****

And trust me this **** bumps!!

Hey if you wanna turbo your TL, more power to you. I'm going to do the same thing. Probably hit forced induction this summer. I'm gonna do a manual tranny swap first though. Oh about your $10,000 dollar system, nice gear, but you got ripped off bro. Over here in So. Cal I can get the same setup for $5,000 or less. For $10,000 I could put the NSX engine(rebuilt) in the TL instead of a system or atleast TV's up in the head rest too.
