Thumbs down Transmission issue

I have a 1997 3.2 TL with 67k miles on it. It has started to make a clunking noise when shifting from 1st to 2nd. It is coming from the drivers side front and sounds like a bad u-joint would. It only happens when the car is under a load. If I start off slow, the noise is not present.Any ideas on what I should be looking for?Thank you in advance.Lee
