Transmission filter change interval question

Hey all, I did my filter and fluid at 108,500. And a drain and refill at 143,000. I am now at about 158k. The trans is a little sloppy during downshifts and I was wondering if I should do another screen replacement. How often should I do this. The fluid is still clean. I dont beat on this thing, but it does not downshift very smoothly sometimes. What do you recommend?

I want this thing to last well over 200k. The oil leak is a different story.

i wouldn't think that you need to replace the filter that often... after all, Honda/Acura meant that screen to be a lifetime filter... i would go with maybe a 90-105k interval to change that filter...

if the tranny is shift sloppy, but the fluid comes out clean without much sludge, then i don't think that the filter would be clogged... let me ask what kind of fluid are you running in there? and i'm sure you already checked to make sure the levels are all good?

Thanks,
I have been meticulous with keeping the trans fluid clean and topped off with the genuine Honda stuff from the dealer. I have even done the differential 2x in this period as well.
The transmission shifts beautifully when starting off from 1st gear through 4th. It is just when I am doing say, 40 and I need it to drop one gear to merge or pass. It drops down in a very sloppy way. I feel like it was always a little sloppy, but it may be getting worse. Sometimes I will manually shift to 3rd at 50mph to do a merge so it doesnt "clunk" down so sloppily. I will have to take a video.
Do these transmissions seem to last?
