tranny wont go into drive.... ?

for the longest time my car would not start because of my factory alarm system. so i disabled it . car runs great now ! but now the car wont go into Drive. infact the shifter wont move at all. but from what i understand the alarm has nothing to do with the tranny. any help would be greatly appreciated ??

To the left or right of your transmission shifter (its been a while) there is a little black cover that can be opened (carefully) with a small flathead screwdriver. Take a car key and press into it, this will allow you to shift.

The shift interlock sensor is broken or not functioning. This is attached to your brake pedal, normally you have to push the brake pedal in order to shift the transmission from drive to park, etc.

check your brake switch at the pedal... if this goes, it won't trip the shift lock to release...
