Totalled my TL
Learned one hell of a lesson the other ngiht about my own driving ability and confidence in road conditions. Even going pretty slow, things can still go wrong. Going through a town near me, there is a quick right and then left, and when coming around the right I was fine, the left I just slid. Luckilly enough there was no one around, and just me in the car. My front passanger corner hit a tree and took the hit pretty hard. Air bags deployed, windshield cracked, along with all the damage on the front end.
I doubt that with the money I have I will be able to get into another TL, though I would seriously consider it if I could. I've always felt safe in the car, and now even more so.
I'm going to be selling a few of the things off the car before I send it to the junkyard, so if you are interested, send me a PM or post here.
Chrome shift plate (stock one with the gray paint removed)
Center caps (I'll try and get a picture of the style)
Inspire tails (A bit used/broke, but not that bad/noticable)
Most of the stuff out of the interior is in fine condition too, it was raining but nothing really got wet. I don't want to ship seats and stuff like that, but smaller stuff I can do.

Sorry to lose the car, but you are alright. Cars can always be replaced, human bodies cannot. Hope you can fit in another Acura since your story just makes me believe in them more.

Just remembered too, I have at least one shift knob that is in alrigth condition, it was definately better than mine when I bought the car with about 130,000 miles on it.

Sounds like one of those nasty weight-shifting S-curves. Sucks man, you had a clean 1st gen. Try selling the carcass to a specialized Honda/Acura parts yard. They will probably give you more for it than any old junkyard.

The wood trim looks good, it isn't cracked or anything, I'll pull it out and put it aside for you. I don't have my camera today, but I'll get some pictures for you.
I'm going on vacation July 4th-9th, so it will be a couple weeks before I can get anything mailed out.

cambo - Looks like the trim around the radio cracked durring the accident. I took the carputer out this morning and noticed, sorry.
Kam - I've only got one of the condoms I THINK, one of my headlights is pushed back a couple feet into my engine bay, but I'll check for you.

DJ - Someone has alright asked about the tail lights, and the fog condoms (if I can get them out) but the shift gate I still have. They are easy to take off, just need a flat head and philips screwdriver

M8, I'm sorry that this has happened to you... I guess what someone once said was true... June really IS an unlucky month... My friend also got jacked two days ago... She was dragged along Market St. all for her three-year-old phone.
What you're saying about the numbers is true. When I picked up my 3G Accord, junkyards only had 1 or 2 cars in their lots. After I crashed the first time a year later, I went to the junkyards and counted 5 or 6 in each lot. Might start happening to our cars... Will your Azect fit a UA3, though?

Krayzie - I can get that for you, I don't know where in CT you are, but it might save some money picking it up, maybe copy can when he comes by, and then you can go there (CT border) I think the window switch will fit, I'm not sure though, I Would check the part numbers

Dude... wtf. I'm glad you're okay, if I were you, you could always go with the same year you had before, or upgrade to the 99+.. .well, even though the 99's more reliable with the tranny, you have the warranties for 00+. By the way, would that shift knob fit for my year?

why does everyone want those condoms? IMO they make our cars look so ugly at night, it's much better when they're all clear white lights. i still have both of mine even though i'll never put them back in. anyone want to take them off my hands?

Sorry to hear the news Unsane - you were very much an active member with PLENTY of great posts and advice. One can only hope that someday you'll be rolling in a TL again.
Not to get in the way of every1's requests but I was in a somewhat similar situation a few years ago with my beater accord. I had wrecked it and was stuck with a heavily front damaged car and no $$ since I only had liability on it. I miraculously found a similar year, similar color, similar bodystyle, damaged accord on autotrader, that had cosmetic damage and deployed airbags, and bought it for just $1250. I used the parts off the car I wrecked on the one I had bought, picked up a couple of airbags from a junkyard and for $1500 and some sweat I had a new car. Sold the rest of the parts of the wrecked one and made all my money back and more. Just something to think about....
If you decide to part out, I'm looking for the driver's side door speaker in stock condition. It has to be in good condition - not rotting etc. Mine's blown, and I love the stock sound system, so I'd be interested. Can paypal you the money. Hope everyting works out.

Just got back from vacation up in Vermont, working all day tomorrow, but have monday morning off and I'll get back to pulling parts and getting prices/shipping figured out for you guys who want stuff.
I am going to try and get it out of my driveway Friday, I hate having to pull in and look at it every day, so Thursday will be the last call for any parts.
