For style and performance, you go with the low profile tires.
The down size is, the thread tends to wear out quicker than the high profile one.
The ride quality sucks.
Also, if you step on a nail then thats it, it will deflat fast.

For last lasting threads, Id go with the high profile tires.
Pros:
These tires has high, thick walls. It gives good ride quality.
If you step on a nail, the tire tends to deflate slower.
Con:
Its ugly.
Thats just my opinion.

The only ones that will keep your speedometer calibrated correctly is the 215/50 size.

It will be slightly off if you go with the others. If you want a low pro tire, go with a 225/45.

You also have a lot more choices with 225/45. 215/50 is kind of a little used size.

215/50 is good if you live in an area with terrible roads. ive had 215/45 and hit a pothole and cracked my wheel. 215/50 is thick and might look a 'bit" ugly but its better to be safe so you wont bend your wheel.

Ah.. It depends on where you come from. The way its said is different but, it means the same.
The reason I mention that is from my experience with both types.
Everytime I use the low profile, if a nail punctures my tire, I get an instant flat.
But with the high type, I dont even noticed it until I get home and wake up the next morning. And what sucks is, I'm late for work from chaging the damn tires.
