Hey, just a quick question that I would like some opinions on. I got a quote from someone in my area here to do my timing belt, tensioner, and water pump for about $500. I know that this is a pretty good deal, and I think he's a younger guy. He works at an Acura dealer and just wanted something to do on the side. I don't know him and I don't know his work, should I let him do it or sould I pay the extra money to take it in? I know how to do these things myself, but I just don't have the time to do it. What do you all think?

 

it will cost around $800.00 + at the dealer.
if he works at acura, I guess he knows what he's doing. Ask him if he had done any timing belts for your model.

 

Yeah, I'll assume he knows our engines well. I have a '96 3.2 and he drives a '95 Legend with the 3.2, and he says his girlfriend drives an '01 TL with a 3.2 as well.

 

The Legend C32 is an OBDI version of ours, but his girl's J32 is a different machine entirely.
