thinking about selling the tl

So the time has come to sell my tl. I hate to sell this car but it's the right thing to do. Hopefully later down the road, I will come across another one. I love them but need to get into something smaller and more gasoline friendly.

I don't know how much to sell it for. I just touched 160k not too long ago so I think a asking price of $5k is reasonable. Car is in perfect condition.

^ I was spending $20 a day in the SC. V8 FTL... The TL was close at ~$15/day... Weekends? Forget about mileage: $20 in a few hours.

i recently took an entire highway trip and averaged 25.8 mpg. when i saw that, i nearly shit myself in excitement. i'd never even gotten above 23 before. our cars are definitely gas hogs and we dont even have the power under the hood to warrant the crappy gas mileage.

I've seen 23MPG ONCE ever, the rest of the time was around 16-18. The SC400 was around 12.

If you can afford it, get a 1.6L car like a 92-95 Honda Civic. They're really cheap on gas. You can use it as your daily driver and the TL on the weekends

buying another car to save money on gas? that's the worst possible idea. first you'd have to pay for the car, then pay for tax, title, license, and then pay for insurance. do you realize how long it would take you to just break even after paying for all that? you'd pay more a month just for the insurance than you would to just drive your TL everyday.

Really?? Let see here...first of all 92-95 Civics are dirt cheap. You can get them for $600-$1000 in my city. Secondly, yea u do pay title tax and license and insurance, and realistically, the title, tax and license is a one time shot. and how costly will insurance be for a 15 yr old honda civic?

Drive your TL everyday with inflated gas prices vs a 1.6L 92' Honda Civic as a daily driver that uses basic gas and not premium with better mileage and see which option turns out to be the better one.

^ You'd be surprised. My '88 Accord cost more to insure (with a clean record) than my TL (with accidents and speeding tickets). That's what I got for living in the Tenderloin... Plus it got worse gas mileage out of a 2.0 I4, than our 3.2 V6.
