Is There A Master Fuse?
I recently bought a new vehicle and passed on my absolutely immaculate 96 2.5 TL to my mother. She has left it in her garage for the past four months. About two months into passing it to her, I went into the garage and started the car just to make sure that the battery was okay. Everything was fine. About three weeks ago, I did the same thing. Everything was fine. A week later (two weeks ago), my mother called and said the battery was dead as she tried to start the car.
This past weekend while I was at her place, I tried to start the car. Not only would she not turn over, the dome light, the radio, and every other item requiring electricity was out. It was as if the battery was completely drained.
At this time, I suspect that something other than the battery is out of order. Is there such a thing as a "master fuse" for the 96 2.5 TL?
By the way, it has 140,000 miles on it.
Thanks for the help in advance!

ok i THINK this is the main fuse...
pop up your hood and open up the fuse box...
then uhh... its numbered on the user manual as #1, so its the huge long fuse thats slanted. Its the only fuse thats big and long thats slanted in that fuse box, and that SHOULD be the master fuse... i believe you need a phillips scrwedriver to take it out and to check if its blown....
hoppefully this helps a bit

There IS a master fuse (also called the IDIOT fuse as I found out when I was much younger and crossed the jumper cables on my '88 Integra!! But that's another story!!) And yes it is the LONG fuse with the philips screws holding it in on the fuse box. But from the car just sitting there I would be more inclined to think it IS the battery. I have had my batteries darained for many reasons over the years many to the point that NOTHING will light up. But try the fuse first if you want, not like it's expensive or anything.

More than likely, you're alternator is dead and the battery is COMPLETELY drained.
take out the battery and bring it to an autozone/advance auto parts/pepboys and ask them to test it.
If you can take the alternator off, they can test that as well.
