Suspension Techniques Sway bars for TLs

I just spoke to Suspension Techniques (ST) and they said that they would make sway bars for our cars if we order 25 sets from them at $320 each. Here is the catch - Someone has to give them a set of their sway bars to work from. They are located in Fresno, CA. Also, they want a company to order them.

Here is a chance for us to get sway bars for our TLs. I'm not sure if the sway bars are the same for the 2.5 and 3.2 TLs. I'll check with Acura today. Here is a chance for an entrepreneur to make some money and set up a company to look after this and mark the cost up a bit. I am willing to pay someone a profit to look after this.

All you performance guys, please respond if you are interested in getting sway bars that presently no one else makes. Remember that we need a minimum of 25 and a person who will coordinate it in California. Please indicate if you are interested in doing that as well and whether your TL is 2.5 or 3.2

I have no problem sending them bars, BUT the 25 buys is where you will have problems.

I just called Acura and the sway bar part numbers for the 2.5 and 3.2 are different. So, please specify which one you have.

I believe that you are helping us TL owners with parts from Japan. Any luck on getting sway bars for our G1s?

Thanks for your offer to send sway bars to ST. I hope there will be enough orders to go ahead. Would you be interested in dealing directly with ST on this? Being a company, you may have more clout in negotiating with them. I talked to a guy there by the name of Peter and his phone number is 800-595-7016

Thanks for your help!

What are sway bars?
Sway bars (also called anti-sway bars and anti-roll bars) are round bars usually shaped like a "U" that are mounted on your front and rear suspension. If you look under the rear of your car, you will find a bar that is connected to the left and right suspension arms and in between there will be two bushings mounting the bar to the car body.

The purpose of these bars is to reduce the amount your car leans when cornering. So, if you are like me and like to drive fast and corner fast, then properly sized anti-sway bars are very important to get. The stock ones on our cars are not designed for performance handling and as a result, your car leans a lot when cornering.

Do a search on sway-bars and you will find it available for most cars, except ours. Hope this helps!

One more thing before I am totally down with the order.

That price of $320 is that for the pair or for each one?!?!?!?!

If its each one then I am out, cause I got a wedding on the way, you know, gotta curb those spending habits.

Well, I guess you are right. I thought there would be more response on the sway bars, but its been a week and we don't have enough orders to make it a go. We tried .......... sorry guys!

My plans are to get thicker sway bars on my 3.2TL, even if I have to get them custom make. I have Eibachs and Koni Sports, but it still needs stiffer sway bars.

I think more people are into cosmetics, they want to make there car look nice before they even think about the performance part. And by time they get to this performance stage in modding up there car they decide to spend there money somewhere else........but everone i different...........sorry if i offended anyone

You are absolutely right about priorities. For me (and probably you and some others), performance comes right after wheels and tires.

yup....I think springs are important also for high speeds and cornering, and they also make your look more aggressive looking. Sways and shocks for me before I do anything else.
