A shock absorber is just a pneumatic rod that dampens shocks.

A strut is a shock absorber but it is also a support structure for the front suspension. I do believe our cars have coil-overs, which are just shocks that are made to go inside the spring.

Our cars would need to have McPherson struts to have... struts (that go inside the spring).

actually aftermarket coilovers, which wackjum stated that coilovers are just shocks that go inside the spring, are shocks that come with springs. a company called ground control makes coilovers for our cars and they use eibach springs.

i just hate when people use the term "struts" b/c when i hear struts, the 1st thing that comes to mind is the strut BAR =o(
