Steeringwheel care

my wheel is cracking at "12:00" Its fine in the other parts. Anybodies wheel also cracking? I'm going to have to go to autozone or something to buy a ghetto ass wheel cover to prevent from further damage. My car is going downhill...fast

I know what you mean mine was doing the same thing in my 99. It ended up getting a hole in it and I just ripped off the leather on the top half of the steering wheel. There is a pretty comfy rubber under there and I kinda like the way it feels. Don't know if it would be the same on the 1G. I will take a pic to show you if you want.

at that point, just throw a steering wheel cover on top of it.

Nah, it's actually not as bad as it sounds. once the leather got the hole in it, it was real uncomfortable under my hand, so I just took it all off. There is a seam where it ends I'll try and take a pic tomorrow.

I think g2 TL's have more of a seam as opposed to g2's where there is stitching at the seams.

^ ??

What are you trying to say?

Anyhow, I've got a shitty cover on mine because my wheel's all tore up. Got the car with it on already and snuck a peek underneath.

~Cheers~

Mine cracked real bad and then it started leaves the material on my hand so I went to autozone, pep boys, and finally k mart where I found the one that I liked and now it blends in so good with the car...lol

Fabrion restored my steering wheel perfectly, it took maybe 10 minutes. Didn't have to remove it either.

Do a search for the thread I started with keyword 'Fabrion.' I took before and after pics of the seats but not of the steering wheel. The steering wheel repair was done exactly as the seats. It was quick and inexpensive and it still looks like new after almost a year. The guy who did the repairs is a magician.

the G1 tl's only have two seams where the smaller holes are on the steering wheel. and right there, the leather is stitched together. I know that because my stitching is starting to show.

if push comes to shove, ill have to find a cover that has the fake wood grain all around. none of that grey part but if thats the closest i can find, ill settle for something like that..

lol sweet benz wheel.

baller, depending on what trim color your dash is i'd say a cover like mine would go nicely with the interior of our tl's

Mine is woodgrain looking and it is black to. The black goes with everything else that is black in my car and the woodgrain explains itself.
