When I was reading my manual, I noticed that the SRS indicator light was suppose to come on when you turn on to Ignition II and dissappear when you turn on the car. But mine doesn't light up at all. Has anyone have had this same problem? Is it really a serious thing? Because it says that the airbag might not funtion right if it doesn't light up. I don' want to have to take this to the dealer and waste money for them checking if it's not a big deal.

Also, just replaced my D4 indicator light, but grr...I cracked a little part near the driver's side vent. What can I use to fix or cover the crack? I don't want the crack to spread any further than it should have.

 

Before you take it to the $tealer, you might want to make sure the bulb for the SRS indicator light isn't out as well. Since you replaced your D4 bulb, you already know how to take out the dash. I'd say check it out first before you have to shell out any real money.

If it doesn't light up at all, your airbag might be bad.

 

I'm pretty sure it isn't a bulb behind the SRS, its an LED.

 

Thx for the help. I'll take out the dash and check it out. Although, if the D4 light costs about $5, I wonder how much the SRS light will be at the dealer. Unless there is another store that sells them? BTW, anyone know what type of bulb the SRS light is?

 

I just found out that my SRS light does come on, but it doesn't come on everytime. It also doesn't come on when i turn to Ignition II, but does show up sometimes when I start up the engine. Anyone have any idea what's up with this?

 

I think it's a SRS system check when you start the car. Check the manual. As long as it lights when you start the car, it should be fine.
