Squeeking sound from front right

I developed a squeeking sound a couple of days ago. It only happens when I slowly brake and the front of my car dips. For sure it is not my brakes, it sounds like a squeeky bushing. When I push the front of my car up and down, it does not happen and when I am driving and hit bumps, it does not occur as well.

Two weeks ago, I had a new transmission installed and about two months ago, I had a camber kit put in. I wonder it the camber kit is squeeking? It is not polyurethane.

yeah it's the camber kit, i have the same problem too. i need to find a way to fix it. the dealer sprayed some type of lubricant down there and the noise went away for like a day. i think i'm gonna try to apply some grease or soemthing down there to get rid of the noise.

I took my car back to the mechanic who installed the camber kit and he was puzzled, because it was a rubber bushing one he installed and they never squeek.

He sprayed some lubricant on the bushing and also loosened and retightened the bolts. He said that sometimes there is too much preload on it and by doing this, it may solve the problem.

I'll let you all know if that permanently fixed the problem.

I'm not sure what make my camber kits are because my mechanic convinced me not to get ones with urethane bushing and that he could get rubber bushed ones for me. I paid more money for the rubber ones and they still squeek. I'll keep you informed if the squeek comes back in a few days.

Just a thought, how can you get the grease inside the bushing where it squeeks without taking it all apart which would be a big job?

i guess the mechanic would have to drop the whole thing and just pack the bushings with grease. my ride is really squeaking like a b!tch now. i wonder how loud it is outside the vehicle..............................

It's just as loud outside as it is inside. I walked along side my car as my mechanic drove it slowly and kept hitting the brakes. It is loud, ugly sounding and irritating. The people that make these bushings should be shot!

a friend of mine said that white grease will take care of the squeak, but the entire kit must be broken down and reinstalled, then realigned...........phuck...phuckity...phuck-phuck

damn really? crap i guess i'll be willing to spend 100 bucks to get the squeeking noise out of the car though. it's driving me wild. on a side note. my dash is beginning to squeek too. at first i thought it was just rocks or something hitting my windshield, but then i found it was the dash. i took it apart and tried to figure out what went wrong, but it's still squeeking like a mofo. damn our cars are turning into a 2nd gen!!!

it's not the coilovers.....it's the camber kit that is givin' me the a$$ ache....BTW if your ride dropped just an inch or so....you may not even need camber adjustment......(the alignment may be within tolerance)....but it still recomended to maximize thread life and traction.

It's been 5 days since my mechanical lubed and adjusted my front camber kit and the squeak has not returned. What he did was loosen the bolt that holds the bushing in place while the car was raised up and the suspension was extended down. He did this to both bushings to get rid of any pre-load on it.

My mechanical used to design and race cars and what he did to the bushings to eliminate the squeak seemed to have worked.

No realignment required. The mechanic did not touch the bolt that adjusts the camber. He loosened and tightened the bolt that holds the bushing in place.

Now it's 10 days since my mechanic fixed the squeak problem. It is still okay. Remember that the bushing on mine is rubber and not urethane. My mechanical was the one that highly recommended getting the rubber bushings because he experienced squeaking problems with urethane in the past.

The camber kit is Ingalls #3571 (Rubber bushing). They have a website www.ingallseng.com and you should be able to get them easily.

I could get them for you, but I live in Canada and by the time you add shipping and possibly duty, etc. it may cost you more than getting it locally.

do you know if the ingalls bushings are interchangable with camber kits from other companies?

I'm not sure and it may be difficult to find out because I don't think there is an industry interchange for bushings like there is for O-rings. Sorry .... can't help you
