Unhappy somethings wrong with the tl...

So yea... my tl is starting to act up on me...

Check engine light came on
idles VERY roughly
when idling the rpm constantly moves up and down almost hitting 0
acceleration seems to be sluggish
when the at shifts from 1-2 and 2-3 its a lot more "jerky" than usual

all fluids are normal...
timing belt is brand new...
think the tranny is starting to give? any help would be nice.. thx

No, your warrenty is long expired. Incorrect valve lift will probably cost a bit to fix. If you call your local Acura dealership, the maintainence people should be able to give you a price.

I got no CEL light today..but the engine was kinda juping in the rpms at idle. So I drive for a little bit and park, turn the car off. About 20 minutes later I start the car, turns on and then cuts out. Try again and it wont turn over. After about 5 tries it starts. I am driving for a little bit and again park. About an hour later, the car starts but in a couple minutes the lighting in the car dims and goes back to normal, and the heat goes from being on to barely blowing, then on again.

My mom got out and said my car sounded like shit...I dunno what it is..grrr.

If its an EGR port you'll need to remove the intake manifold and remove (clean) whatever is blocking the port. Could be a bad gasket, etc. 150+k miles is alot even for a Honda.

Sounds like an electrical problem, alternator. If the engine is stumbling at idle your intake air control valve might need adjusted/cleaned/replaced.

ok... so my mom took my car into the shop(since im at school and i dont got the car) and she left it there for 3 days... egr valve was replaced or something plus the engine had a lotta other stuff to be fixed... so yea... engine was lifted out, taken apart, etc etc (wish i knew this was happening so i couldve asked to get it port and polished xP)
overall cost was 1000.... got it done for 500... since we knew the mechanic... ugh...

Yeah but it sounds like not directly related to the alternator if he's throwing an EGR DTC. The drop in revs is probably causing the alternator to crank out a lower voltage resulting in the electrical problem.
