Try looking hearing for it by opening up your hood and putting your ear pointed towards the engine... if its near the belts... it might be an idler... i had this problem... my bearing for my AC idler froze... basicly they just burned up... its a $40 and 2 hour fix... oh and if it is that... you'll also have to buy two bottles of power steering fluid... lol...

Does anyone notice the AC eats up too much engine power? When the AC is off, the engine just accelerates smoothly, light and fast. With AC on, it makes a somewhat heavy reving noise, feels heavy and slow. The worse happens when the AC compressor kick-in in the middle of stop-light acceleration, suddently something holds you back, it is pissing me off.

I haven't noticed it to be too bad in my 3.2. I could see how it would affect a 2.5 a little more. Worst was my Integra, a/c never was very cold to begin with, took like 20 minutes on a hot day to start blowing real cold and did it EVER rob power!! Lost probably 20 HP every time I turned it on! (Felt like it anyways!)
