Side Blinker lights

Hey Guys,

I'm slowly improving and adding mods to my TL. Next on the list could be the Side Blinker Lights.

WHat are you opinions on this mod? DO you think these side lights look good on our TLs? Are they hard to install? Can I use a general blinker light or TL specific? THanx

yea, i would say the blinkers on the mirrors would be a better bet than the side markers.

because if you drill a hole in your car for the blinker and then you decide you dont want it anymore, your going to be stuck with a hole on both sides of your car.

Hmmm ...interesting. Three of you against the side markers. They look good on some of the cars. Actually alot of the new models have them. THey look good on "short" cars ...I wasn't sure if they'd look good on the TL's long gate.

its basically permanent unlsee you like the bodyshop, and they really arent doin that much if anything to add to the look of the car, caus most protrude from the body unlike the bmw ones that have a hole and indention in the body for the, you know what i mean?

First off its not OEM. They’ll depreciate value from the car. If you go to the dealer and trade it in they’ll definitely try to take money off because of them. Your car needs to be as stock as possible to get a decent trade in amount. Also, it’s a permanent mod unless you spend a lot of money to get them removed. Its kind of like a tattoo. If I had the chance to do it all over I would never have gotten them.

I’ve been calling a few dealers lately and they’re telling me they’ll give me about $10K for my car if its in good condition. I’ve really been considering making it all stock again and trading it in for something newer. I have a lot of things to reverse though. Black headlights, sidemarkers, clear bumper lights, blue LED dash and cluster, 5 TVs, stereo. What a pain in the ass that’ll be. The worst part is that the smallest mod which is the sidemarkers will cost me the most money to repair.

Maybe, but keep 2 things in mind. One, I opened my Inspire tails to remove the yellow chamber. They sealed up nice and don’t get any condensation. Two, you would have to send me your stock tails plus money. I don’t think the dealer would mind my car having Inspire tails too much since they are OEM and as long as there’s amber bulbs in there. We’ll see.

No doubt. I will let you know. The LEDs I will personally change for you. The TVs I might keep. It all depends if I can get new headrests are not. The Value wing I’m pretty much stuck with unless I can swap a black trunk lid and some cash with someone. I’d swap the Inspire folding mirrors with someone but it would have to be the same deal as with the Value wing. The Inspire tails I’ll swap. The underbody neons will be for sale. Some of the stereo will be for sale. I’m keeping the HID systems for my next car.

I was gonna do this last year but my father wouldn’t co-sign for me. Now he’s changed his mind since I told him the book value for my car is dropping and I still have 2 years left on my loan. I’m looking for either a GS300, GS400 (98+), or a CLK320 (98+). For all I know he might change his mind again and I’ll still have my TL.

I have them too. I am 50/50 I like them but I think the car looks cleaner without them. The main problem is what happens when you get tired of them you're kind of stuck so if I were you I would think long and hard. Think not for right now but will you like them 6 months from now. That's just my $.02

I wouldn't cut or drill holes in my TL, but I've seen it done. Both on the fender and in the door bumper guard. I was going to get a pair of mirrors from a junk yard and put them in the mirrors like the Mercedes Benzs.

Thats gonna cost you like $900. I've tried that before. Theres no room in our mirrors so a new body has to be custom made.

I've seen them for the Integra (just like the MBs). Maybe I'll just have to get MBs and custom fit them.
