Angry Short Ram causing problems!!

For some reason I am getting a bad hesitation at accelerating speeds. I hear this popping noise under the hood too. Kinda like a backfire sound. Anyone have any similar problems to this, or know how to fix?

The only reason why I added a short ram was to increase the acceleration, not to rice out my car. And it looks like it's causing more damage than anything else...

i di dnot take out the entire stock intake, all you need to do is get a cone and thats it, i would not have done that.....jus connect a cone on the end of the hose and clamp it down real good

the stock tube and the aftermarkets are the same in purpose? i mean, if that the case then why doesn't everyone get an new pipe, like on those 2nd gens that have the short ram intakes. the new pipe has to do something doesn't it?
