Shifting strange (Shift silonoid?)

I have changed the screen and fluid on my 98 TL 2.5 but the tranny is still acting up. It seems to stay in 1st and 2nd a little long when cold. When it warms up it shifts fine but when coasting or braking lightly then accelerating again it is in too high of a gear, revs and drops into gear with a clunk.
It will also do this when turning a corner and accelerating.Seems sluggish to downshift.
Does this sound like it needs a Shift solenoid or a total rebuild?
I have been living with this for about a year and doesn't seem to be getting any worse.

Thanks in advance

Check to see that the screen is aligned properly. IIRC, someone here had the same issues and that was the cause.

I'll check that.

After really paying attention to the way it shifts the past couple days.
I have noticed that the problem is only when shifting between 2nd and 3rd,
up or down. Hangs in 2nd when cold and reluctant (slow) to shift down to 2nd.

2.5 trannies tend to act a little weird, but if it did that after changing the screen then recheck the screen/oring.
