Shift Knob

Does anyone know if a 99 TL wood shift knob will fit a 97 3.2. I am trying to bid for it on E-bay and the auction ends in 15 minutes

NO THEY DONT FIT !!!!!!! I think its too late...I tried for my 2.5 and the inside diameter is way off. I tried hollowing it out but still didnt work.
I bought the leather shifter for the new TL, I had to slice the leather and roll it off the knob and roll it back onto my factory knob, then RESEW it back on.

Would that go for the wood shift knob also? I'm winning an auction on e-bay for one, for like $30 and it would suck to win and it does not fit. I called Acura but they were not sure and this was someone in the parts department. I also asked him (to see if he knew) would Type S CL rims fit on a 97 TL and he said he did not know that either and I told him they do because I saw the picture and he said oh . I'm like is that easy to work in parts or was the janitor answering the phone.

Yeah like TLBALLER said. It says CARBOY. Its the name of a performance shop that I have bought most of my stuff from. They know me and some of my friends so they always give us stickers and stuff.
I was actually thinking about peeling it off.

well when i bought the wood shifter kknob the two fittings on the inside they sent me weren't the right size... one was too big and the other was too small... so i hollowed out the smaller one to hit in... and now the wood shifter goes nice wiht the wood finishing in my car... hehhhe not too much of a problem..

Just Curious if you guys ever came to a conclusion, as to whether a 99 and up woodgrain knob would fit on a 98-down TL 3.2? I know that the one person that tried had a 2.5, but how about a 3.2?

Also, just a thought, what if the threads are different, and you get a small adapter to go from the threads on the knob, onto the TL if it is different, I'm sure ACE Hardware, or Home Depot would have a small adapter that wouldn't be very noticeable, if it were only an inch or two long. Just a thought

They did'nt fit. They even came with two plastic adapters but still did not make a difference. So here I am like 9 months later with a brand new shift knob that does not fit.

it rubbed off because the clear finish layer above the white emblem rubs off very easily.
I have the same problem.
BTW you have to get the 96-98 shift knob for the 1st gens for a twist on twist off easy install. the other years (99 + ) will only work if you modify as others have suggested above.
