RPM Vs Torque Curve ('97 2.5TL)

I am a new owner of a second hand 97 TL with 190K. Nice car. Nice forum you folks have. This is my first post.

Does anyone know where to find spec's like this? What is the rated Horsepowerof my engine? Is there such a thing as a HP vs. RPM curve?

The 2.5 has a very broad torque curve. Peak torque occurs just under 4000 rpms.

Oh and the 2.5 is underrated for HP, its closer to 190 hp.

would enroach on the 3.2s .... i mean it would be difficult to justify a $5000 premium for just 10 hp ..althoughb to be fair that engine i believe is slightly underrated and 3.2s came with other goodies such as keyless, extra wood, leather shiftknob, etc.

EDIT: Welcome to the forum!

Closer to 190 huh? Still at around 6300 RPM? I imagine the torque curve would be pretty flat. Isn't that true of all Hondas?

Of any Honda with 2.2 liters or above, they have very flat torque curves.

The 1.6 and 1.8 VTEC engines are VERY peaky.

S2000's engine is the same way.

As for why its rated at 190...

It was to keep the Vigor in its place.

Back then the Legend had 200 hp (optionally 230 hp on the LS coupe and GS sedan)

To keep the cars separate in buyer's minds, Acura decided to underrate it to 176 hp.
