If you wanted something free, you could just pull out the seat back and not worry about having to attach anything to the car.
I don't think I've ever seen a first gen with a roof rack.

You might be able to just use some of the universal one's out there that don't necessarily hook onto the roof but the window jam.
An idea that I have seen work is use a soft surfboard rack. My bro had one on his old accord and the straps go between the door and the car and underneath to the other side. Really easy to take on and off and won't hurt your paint at all.
Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...goods&v=glance
P.S. All the more reason to ski instead of snowboard :P

Is there any problem with a universal one if you have frameless windows like us though? I would think it may be a problem, having something between the window and the seal for it...

I'd ask an expert on this.. frameless windows and a relatively rare car mean you'll need something that can be customized to a degree.

Surf Racks
Get some Foam Surf Racks
They're easy (though if you leave them on all year, they start to ruin the clearcoat where the straps rub).

Yeah, that's what I posted. It will work with the bindings on it for sure...theres one foam thingie for the front and back, and you just put the ends in the straps. Also, you should be able to close your windows, although there may not be a tight seal where the straps go. Praxiis, nice thinking man

Yeah - not the tightest seal... the wind whistles a bit on the hwy at 120k, sometimes the windows pop through the seals (no damage, just louder wind noise) when doing like 160k - not that I've ever gone that fast
, and the straps drip inside when it's pouring rain out... I've used these racks to haul lumber, xmas trees, furniture, ladders, plumbing, etc...
Mine are made by Ocean Earth, but many other companies make them. I think I paid $50 at a surf shop here in Halifax, so you should be able to find them for 1/2 that![Wink](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I have a thule rack. The feet will fit and still allow the window to seal. they use a thin hook on the top to allow the door to close with the windows all the way up, there is a small lip above to hook to. Mine works great, I used the accord foot set because I had it and modified the hooks to work. It is a little too complex of a mod to explain w/o pics, but anyway I know thule and probable yakima make foot packages for their universal rack systems to go on your tl. They work well, are easy to put on and remove and don't damage the car.
The Yakima clam shell is much better than a Thule. My thule is a PITA to open, takes two hands and is still very difficult because the lid is very flexible and binds if the front and back dont open together. anyway either clam shell will work with either set of crossbars.
A total set up should be arround $400 or cheaper used.
