Rim size for the 2.5TL?
hi folks,
My stock alloy rims are getting old, and has all sorts of scatches from the curb.
I'm looking around for new rims, and was wondering what is the largest size(Width and height) the 2.5TL can take before the tires starts to rub without having to make the car higher? I'd really would like to get 16-17 inch size rims.
But worry about it rubbing or have to make the car higher.
By the way,I wonder why the 2.5 come with 4 lugnuts instead of 5 like the 3.2?
I makes my life harder to find one with 4 lugnuts. For those with the 3.2, you guys are lucky.
Thanks in advance.

the 3.2 does have 5 lugs but finding a high enough offset is a real pain and the prices suck too.
"the grass is always greener..."
also, 16, 17, 18, 19's fit fine without raising. most people lower 'em.

Hi,
Does anyone here have a 2.5 model with a 17x7 rims,an offset of +42 and all season tires? Does the wheel stick out of the fender? Does it rub when there are 3 backseat passengers and 1 in the front? My biggest worries are to find out its too wide, sticks out, and rub when everybody is sitting in it.
I will be using all season tires on mine. The all seasons are kind of fatter. With the rims will it rub?
Im finally down to 2 that I like. My objective is to have it look like oem style.
Here are the pictures of the two.
The Momo Fighter-->http://www.momo.it/Momo/cerchi/grandi/fighter.jpg
RonJon Servo --->http://ronjonwheels.com/ronjonimages...rvo_silver.jpg
which one do you think looks better?
The Momo has an offset of +45.
The RonJon Servo has an offset of +42.
THanks guys.

Ah....
I finally got it done once and for all.
I got my new rims installed.
I was very scared about the offset. If it was wrong then sending it back will cost a fortune.
But anyway it turned out ok.
Whats funny is when I took the old rims home from Town Faire Tires, they were the ones installed it, I realize the offset was stamped right in the back of my old rim. I was like SoN-Of-A-B****! All this time I was trying so hard to find what the factory offset was, and it was right there.
Anyway, I went with the RONJON Servo 17x7 with 4x114.3 @+42 offset.
The Factory offset for the 96-98 TL 2.5 is officially +45, at least for mine. I dont know where they get +50 or +55 when I looked around. I think its for the newer models. Maybe. dont really know. Another thing, I think 17x7 should be the max limit. Anything after that theres going to be problems. Its just me though.
Mine fit perfectly and theres alittle more room to even lowering it too.
Tonight my brothers and I will go out using my car. I want to see if it rubs when the car is full of passengers. Thanks for you help guys.
