Removing the center cap on my stock rims (3.2)

The center caps on my wheels have a lot of paint missing and it looks like they are plastic. I bought some paint but I'm not sure how to remove them. Can I pop them off with a screwdriver?

Thanks

yes, but be careful not to mark the face. if the wheel is off just shove a screwdriver to the back side of the cap, it will pop right out.

Post pics after you do this.

I might do this to mine and give the ACURA some favor when I do it.

I'll post some pics in a week or two. It looks great, the paint matches perfectly.

We used a silver spray paint that's especially made for wheels. As you can see in the picture, it matches pretty well.

I forgot to ask, where did you get the paint from? A local auto parts store?

Looks great! Anyone have ideas on how to mask up the "ACURA"?

I was going to paint mine with that paint that he used and then take one of the paint pens and just paint it black.

Hey sorry I'm always way slow to respond. I'm at school right now, another class is about to start but I'll definitely check that paint can when I get home tonight. I got it at Canadian Tire, but I'm sure that you can get it in the States as well. I was thinking about painting the Acura part burgundy to match the body colour, but I was thinking that it would probably wear off really quickly.

Ah sweet you got it from CT. Usually their stuff sucks, so I'll prolly just get some spray paint from Rona/Reno. Did you do anything to prepare the caps before painting; sand, primer?

The spray paint is called "Dupli-Color High Performance Wheel Coating" and the colour code is "CHWP10100 High Perf. Silver". With the wheel caps, we pried out the Acura letters with a flat head screwdriver and sanded the caps to a smooth surface, then used about four coats of paint, without applying any primer, spraying slowly to get a nice finish.

Nice DIY! Perfect! Of course, if you get some 2nd or 3rd gen TL wheels, will look better...just a suggestion. I sold my old 3.2 rims for $150.00, no tires, not bad.
