I would only do that if I had already done lots of engine and handling mods, and was taking it to the track. It's your car though, but I wouldn't be giving up heated power leather seats w/drivers position memory for racing seats.....:twocents:

i have a few mods not many though. and my old seats are pretty torn up and cracked. and the stock seats aren't heated and the motors starting to go bad in the passenger seat. the seats i got are fully reclinable and have sliders and are actually pretty comfy.

Racing seats add like 200hp! LoL I wouldn't do it but thats just the TL is to lux, in a ACCORD it'll be ok but not in a TL. Our leathers don't match any aftermarket seats anyway.

i almost did recaro srd jdm integra type r seats..

Its not like the turds we have are that fancy anyhow.. My seats are trashed.. I dont even give a fuck about them anymore, i throw like cylinder heads onto them and shit.. haha..

The only thing id do is like a reclinable recaro srd. Anything else would not look right..

And id only do what i planned on matching upholstry wise with the rear..

I was gonna do the black suede with red stiching ones if i got charcoal interior, then have the rear seats upholstered to match the front..

As far as the power seat shit. I could care less. I sit in one position, and the passanger can eat shit for all i care.. As long as they dont spill the shit on my seat..
The only thing youd loose is the heaters. But im sure you could put those in something else once you got the new seat and wanted to disect it and see how it worked..

Leather is too hot in the summer, and too cold in the winter at times even with the warmer.. Its nice, but i personally could give two shits about it in this particular car..

You could do a nicer seat also, like a rl seat, or a nsx seat.. that would be alright also.. but if the rear seat does not match, it will look dorker..

You could always purchase new leather seat covers for i'd guess about the same price as racing seats. i own a 2nd gen and just crossed over without realizing i was in gen1 thread. sorry...do they still make the seat covers though?

I have a back injury and want to install a race seat with good side and hip bolsters, plus a place for my race harness to fit thru the seat.
Many aftermarket seats only look good but fit lousy on your body
I track day my car and enjoy it in the mountains often
The stock seat does not hold you.
Anyone who thinks its overkill in a TL has not had their car on track to see
why good seats matter!!
Less time hanging on and more time finessing the car is good!
If the color is not a match- get a sheepskin or neophrene cover for it.
Get the correct ones if you have side airbags-
they just go over the main seat area -not the sides of it

As for the seat heaters- that is basically an electric blanket type design on an inner seat liner, and you could remove and transfer to the new seats
Lumbar heat is great for relaxing the back!
