Question about the headlight...

My passenger headlight goes out sometimes. When I raise the hood just tap the bulb and it goes right back on. I'm guessing that the plug that the bulb is clipped into is missing something/faulty. My question is what is that part called and is it a easy replacement???

Do you have hyper whites as your bulbs? If so, what wattage are they? The reason I'm asking is because unless you have a beefed up wiring harness, higher wattage bulbs can fry the stock wiring harness.

Excellent point. The stock harnesses are NOT meant for them unfortunately.

I havent had a chance to switch over to hyperwhites yet. So with stock bulbs it does it. I looked at it again and I think that there is a broken clip or something because the bulb doesnt sit all the way. Is the piece that connects to the actual bulb called the "wiring harness"? And if that is it, then how easy is it to replace?

I have a pair of Xenon bulbs and they work fine in my car. The end of the wire that connects to the bulb is the part they are calling the wiring harness. I dont think it would be too hard to replace, though I've never done it before. You'd probably just have to cut the stock one off, and strip the wires a little and put a new one on. shouldnt be too hard I wouldnt think. (my Xenon bulbs arent really higher wattage...are they usually? I didnt think they were, they are just filled with Xenon gas as apposed to just the lights). Again, I could always be wrong, but thats what I thought....

normally those xenon bulbs are higher wattage. but there are kinds that are normal and to change the harness your basically cutting out the old one and running new wires from the battery and all that. i'd recommend since your doing it anyways to get a stronger wiring harness. http://www.suvlights.com/ sells harness look for the 9003/H4 harness. it's about 62 bucks
