Problem with oil leak on spark plugs

Has anyone replaced the seals on the head covers of their 3.2 TL by themselves? Two of my spark plugs were wet on the outside with oil because the seals in the spark plug cavity opened up causing engine oil to seep through.

My car still has extended warranty, however the Acura dealership said that they would have to take the head covers off and have a look at the seals. If Acura thought there was a defective seal, then they would fix it under warranty.

I don't trust dealerships with subjective issues like that and because of their decision, having to pay them hundreds of dollars to do repair work I can do myself.

Thanks for your feedback!

i know you have to be pretty carefull when messing with the head gasket. but that is on any car so if your fealing brave go ahead and do it yourself but if you mess up you might end up paying more than what the dealership would have charged you. but im not a mechanic so im just telling you what ive heard. good luck with whatever you do

Thanks for your input bsaber41. The seals and gaskets I want to replace myself are on the head cover, and not the head gasket. I have rebuilt a lot of engines in the past and it should not be too difficult.

You are right about the head gasket. With my car still under warranty I would let Aura do the that job for sure if it was a problem.

Thanks
