Probably Getting Infinity Refs

I'm 99% sure I'm gonna get these speakers: http://infinitysystems.com/caraudio/product.aspx?ProdId='REF6012I'&Ser=REF&Cat=MEL for the 6.5s; and http://infinitysystems.com/caraudio/product.aspx?ProdId='REF9613I'&Ser=REF&Cat=MEL for the 6x9s

My brothers almost always go with Infinity products ranging from car subs, speakers, and amps, to home audio stuff. My impression is that they have excellent quality for the price. Other people, including my brothers, have always said that they have amazing clarity, good punch, and have little distortion at high volumes, and that I should definetly go for them. Anyway, 1 or 2 of my stock speakers have blown and I'm looking for new ones. I thought about the Kappas over the References but they're pretty damn expensive and probably need an amp to get the full performance out of them, which I may or may not do in the future. I also considered getting the competing polks, and also maybe the alpine type s because they've got pretty good bass. However, I do have two 10" MTX subs in the back so extra bass is not necessary but it might be nice. I will for sure be buying whatever I get from ebay (I will make sure the source is trustworthy), seeing as it drops the price by 100 or so. Anybody have any of the speakers I mentioned or have any experience with them? As I said before, I'm probably going with the ones above but I'd like to hear some of your thoughts. Thanks.

also don't go cheap when buying audio toys. you can reuse them in your future car too if you wish. just think of it as an investment that will last you awhile. i don't go cheap on audio...well to a certain extent within my budget.

You hear good things and you hear bad. Nothing will be 100% good.

The infinity reference coaxials are my favorite low-end speakers. The tweeters are pretty smooth and midrange isn't so bad either. Midbass needs to improve though.
