Preparing to sell the TL...
well as the title says, i'm starting the process of selling my TL.
I looked on KBB and the private party selling price was right around $5300. i've got a '97 2.5TL with 135,000 miles on it. It's been well taken care of, only minor paint chips and a lot of options i've added. i've been talking to a friend of mine who's an actual dealer and he said that the prices in KBB and NADA are alright but to really get actual amount you could get for the car, you'd have to go to ebay and see what people are actually bidding. obviously that's true b/c it's only worth what people will pay for it. pretty logical. i'm just wondering how much i should start listing it at? i've got almost $1700 worth of options on it so i'm hoping to sell it for about $6000. is this too high? too low? any thoughts would be nice.

hmmm...front to back....2 mesh grilles, clear corners, xenon lights, new battery, vinyl door inserts, vinyl armrest, leather headliner, new door speakers, entire floor and headliner and all doors were insulated, 20% tint, vinyl rear deck, inspire tails, spoiler, sub and amp. those are just what i've done but obviously the 2.5 came with power window, locks, driver seat, moonroof, etc. no electrical issues either. if sold, nothing would have to be repaired. hopefully that answers your question.
You're likely to get less money for your car because of these "options" you have. What you call "options," many will call "mods" and mods decrease the value of your car. After looking at your list, i don't see much that people will precieve as adding value to your car. Perhaps the sub, amp, and tint will help.
Post some pics to help us get a better understanding of the car's condition and looks.

everything i have could have been stock. it's not like i'm rolling on 20" rims and my car is slammed or neon lights and whatnot. i'll post pics later, though i only have a few.
i say sell it for 6gs exterior is clean what about interior clean or not..seem on ebay..110,000 miles on it price went to 8gs with clean exterior but interior is nasty, leather is mess up ..etc.

interior is virtually clean except for the natural wear on the seat bolsters but that's just what's gonna happen after 9 years. also the steering wheel obviously is worn but just small spider cracks and stuff, no tears. No rips or tears anywhere in the leather seats.
I think $6k is a little high although you can always set your reserve price at $6k and see if it gets met. Unless there is a buyer in the market looking for a TL with those mods, you should not expect to recoup any of the upgrade costs. However, if I was in the market for a 1st gen TL, I would def pay $700 over KBB for you car. Set your reserve price at $6k and hope you're timing is right.
