Post up your MPG's. 2.5, 3.2.

I am curious. I have read a few articles online about TL MPG. I am curious what everyone here gets.

98,000mi
I am averaging 22.7 BEFORE tune up. Half decent.

When I had my '98 2.5, I would get about 18-20 with a bad O2 sensor in mixed driving. After I got that fixed, It went up to 22-23 in same conditions. It's funny, because I get about 18-20 in mixed driving in my GTO, which weighs considerable more and has double the HP.

96 2.5, 124K miles.

50 mile commute to work ~ 25mpg (with a heavy foot)
or
1 mile 'commute' to train, and around town only ~ 20 mpg

Going to do tune up next week (plugs, wires, dist cap/rotor, pcv valve, fuel filter, air filter), but my mpg has always been around there for the last 4 years I've owned the car.

Also, I'm so surprised these numbers aren't better than they are. I would expect at least 25-27 in the 3.2 and a little less for the 2.5

I thought we had another thread about fuel mileage already...?

Anyhow, ~18 with the 3.2, ~25 with the 3.5. That's with granny driving for both. Normal for the 3.5 is around 22-23, 3.2 was probably 16-17.

~Cheers~

P.S. Don't ask what I get when I'm mashing it around, .

I would expect better numbers out of the 2.5. My girlfriends Accord V-6 coupe gets 22 also I expected to get better than that.

I will post up after this next tank because I just had the tune up.

96 2.5 TL 214k all (mainly) highway miles...bought in 97, had just been traded in from a two year lease...only 16k on the car at that time.

In April of this year, wll be 13 years on the road...was put on the road in April '95!

25-26 MPG highway winter.........26-27 highway summer....70/75 MPH average

I fully plan to keep the car running and give to my teenage 17 year old son in the spring. I've been looking on Cragslist for another 1st gen TL ...heard of too many problems with the 2nd gen TL tranny. I'll have no concerns with buying a first gen with 100-125k miles...they last forever.

96 3.2, mixed driving I'm averaging 21.5 since I bought the car. 25.5 was the max tank average and 17.7 was the min tank average.

With a 197 entries since June 2005, the following are my stats:

1996 Acura TL 3.2 w/ 171,000 miles

Average Mileage: 17.743 MPG
Average Cost Per Gallon: $3.12
Average Gallons per fill up: 13.64
Total Cost: $8,340.94
Total Gallons: 2,660.99

Me thinks people are not honest about their actual mileage.

Torque. The 3.5 is giving me a better average MPG than even the 3.2's best.

How else do you explain 27MPG in an C6 Vette?

~Cheers~

Methinks your fuel prices are ridiculously cheap!! I'm jumping for joy now that I see gas at $3.55.

Actually, I use 91 all the way. Remember, gas prices have been less expensive, even as recent as two years ago.

With my 97 3.2, Roughly 89,000 miles...

On a full tank of gas could go 320 miles before I hit E.
If I calculated it correct, that comes out to about 18-19 miles per gallon. (I drive in city traffic mostly)
Unfortunately, I took the cheap way out and used 89 fuel.
