i got a crap load of plexy glass for makin my box and cap mounts. Does anyone know wat can be used to cut plexy glass ? I heard a plexy glass knife would work, but i have no idea wat one looks like.

 

I would imagine they are talking about a Mat Knive, you know Box Cutter, but if your making a box for your car I imagine it would be much thicker Plexi Glass, if so then your best bet it using a good table saw with a really fine tooth blade on it, so you have smooth clean cuts on the glass or else it will split with tons of splinters on it. Then when your done cutting it use a fine grit sandpaper to sand the edges slightly for a smooth finish.

Just out of curiousity, how thick is the plexi glass?

 

you better be using at least 1/2 in plexi for making a box... you can use a regular power circular saw... to make it smooth you can als use a polishiung wheel to polish the plexi
a plexi glass knife is for primarilly (sp?) cutting 1/8 in plexi... you could probably cu through the thicker plexi but it will take a long a$$ time
