That is the ****, looks great with no 500 dollar inspire Still I can't find the paint you used, I asked around but no one could get me the "Transparent Candy Apple Red"...does the brand matter?

Smile Red tails

Thanks for the info. I got the paint at a Hobby Town, $3.45, small can.

Just a question, actually, I am having 2nd thoughts, but how does it really match the RED in our tails. The picture looks good, but can you tell between the two color? Tell me it matches super!

Also, what did you do when it came to the Back up light, just stopped at the line?

How did you mask it and what did you use as masking? The painter's mask? The blue thingy?

I know I have a bunch of ?? but please bear with me, I want for the tails to look and feel awesome.

And is this reversible? Can we take it off if we screw up or something?

I am so so ready! Can not do it today, it is so freaking cold! It's 20 outside. The paint label says do it in 70 degree temp.

Anyway, I was so happy when I came in to the store, it was my 2nd store to check into, when I mentioned to a sales guy, I was kind of shy to say what I was going to do with it, but he actually sounded that he knew it was one of the things that people used the paint for. Lots of other colors, too. That's the other thing I wanted to ask, Candy Apple Red matches out tails perfect?

Thanks for all your patience....feels good to post again!

Mandy

Paint

Ya it matches the stock red in the back very nice. Ya don't paint the back up light. I just used newspaper to mask the back and no you dont have to wear any type of mask. It's not that big of a project. Ya it can come off with gasoline, lol. I've done all my cars in the garage. Good luck Mandy.

i believe it's three or four coats of the spray paint for it to look like or stop lights. remember to let each coat dry and make sure not to apply too much or else you'll get blobs of it on the edges. i suggest taking the whole housing out and do it so that you won't have any accidents and get any paint on the car. it's easier to manuver too. just use masking tape and newspaper to cover up what you don't want to get painted. pretty easy process with nice ass results.
