Performance Ignition

Hey guys, I know most of you don't do much more than an exhaust, cai, rims and suspension on these TL's but I'm looking to slowly add as much performance as I acn into mine. I was trying to find an ignition system that will work, and have been having some trouble. I even phoned MSD and they said that the problem with our cars is a Spark Plug Voltage sensor module that senses the voltage going to the spark plug. If we were to plug in an aftermarket box (one designed for distributorless ignitions) it will either just not fire, or worse, blow the module. Does anyone know of anything, maybe that was created for the Legends even that will work? Thanks.

The problem with "performance ignitions" is this: If the stock system works fine, there isn't any improvement.

It is only when having problems with the original equipment where you will see any improvement. Maybe you will see some improvement but don't expect jumps in horsepower

As for that, I would look for systems designed for the Legends or RL's. They exist and unfortunately they are rarely labeled as compatible with the 3.2 TL's.

True enough, but I will say that with ignitions such as the MSD's, their multiple spark discharge does help. Had an MSD box on my Integra what a difference, wouldn't have run the nitrous without it. BUT the TL's ignition system I realise is wayyyy different and having a coil for each plug already greatly improves the system's performance, but I recently found a thread on a legend site that shows that someone is almost finished with a turbo kit for a 2nd gen Legend. If this works, it should fit our cars too. VERY interested, but I would want to improve even further on our ignition systems before putting in a turbo.

Ahhh ok. If you're going with NOS or any form of forced induction, you definitely need an ignition system that can keep up

Good luck!

We'll see, I'm very curious to see how this other Legend works. Once he's done, they are planning on selling it as a kit, but there are quite a few bugs to work out. I'll post a link in a new thread if anyone's interested to read about it. It's a bit long, but the last few pages have pics and more details as to the project's current status. NOS, I don't think I'd do it in this car. It works, trust me, 75 shot on my '98 'teg was AWESOME...but this car I want more power there on a regular basis, I think Turbo its the way to go, or find a way to adapt a Vortech blower would be nice too.....

The only rpoblem is after speaking with the tech at MSD, they don't have one that will work. I am going to have to contact Crane, Jacobs and Accell and see if they have anything. Hoping for the best!!!
