Arrow Painted sideskirts and mudguards?

I think it would look good to have the black strip along the rocker panels painted body-color, as well as the mudguards. Has anybody ever done this, and could post pictures or advice?

Thanks.

I did it on mine and it makes a big difference. I makes it look like you have side skirts. I think MaxxT or something like that had his side skirts painted but he didnt have mud guards. I painted both my skirts and mud guards and it looks awesome. I dont have pics but i hope to have some soon.

Sorry to "hi-jack" the thread but i need to know if painting my mud guards and rocker panels would make a better improvement to the already stock tl?

Just painted the front bumper yesterday.. I filled up the license plate holes and painted all the black part of it silver to make the whole bumper silver..

Do I need rims? Please somebody suggest rims to me. (no chrome)

I am definitely going to do the painted mudguards and sideskirts. I think they will help the look quite a bit. ShopLifter, your car looks great. Nice work on the bumper. I've never been a fan of front license plates. As far as rims go, I am a chrome man but I was considering the 18x7.5 RH EVO C5's for my Legend. They are a good looking wheel and have a polished lip.

You should rotate your wheels, though, so that your wheels are facing the same direction. They are directional. Check your bottom picture to see what I mean.

Did they take them off to paint them? I started to take them off to paint them and after taking the screws out it didn't come out.. I was afraid to bust them..

Anyone have any tips or know how to get them off?

Looks awesome! That's my next mod. My only fear is making sure that the paint adheres to the flexible mudguard plastic. Let us know how everything holds up.

I'm a newbie when it comes to taking car parts apart even though i do work at a bodyshop... A coworker took them off for me... The morning before work, I took off the push clips underneath the rocker panels... After taking off the black plastic screw clips, (have to unscrew them like regular screws to take them off) my coworker used a big ass crowbar and from the front of the rocker panel (front of the car) he pushed it forward to the end of the car... the rocker panel just slides from front to back.

After taking 2 rocker panels, and 4 mudguards off. I had to wash them off cause they were flithy with mud and dirt from all those years of abuse. Then the painter (another coworker) wet sanded everything, primed it, used the existing paint from a week ago when I painted my bumper, cleared it, then baked it.

Like it said before you get what you pay for... The overall paint work itself is alright... I can see some imperfections but you have to get really close to see them... I guess the painter was in a hurry cause he had another car to paint at the same time and it was getting close to midnight.

The paint used was Du Pont... and I don't think you have to worry about the paint cracking on the flexible mudguards as seeing as they don't move (flex) when you drive. The painter or paint must be crappy if it starts to crack... If it cracks then I'll get them repainted for free.

Now, I need to get some 18 inch rims (non chrome), lower the car, and some tint.... Anyone have any suggestions on any of the above? I'm really looking as to what 18 inch rims to get but the problem is, I don't really like chrome... I'm not a chrome person... I'm just a little dorky as hell chinese guy that doesn't belong in the "chrome world" I haven't seen too many NON-chrome rims on a first gen 3.2 tl...

You might get more responses if you start a new thread with "non-chrome 18's" or something in the subject line.
