occasional starting problem, please help?
Heya, I'm new to the forum and kinda new to automotive things at large, so please pardon me for that.
I recently bought a 96 2.5Tl. It's in decent shape for the year. I do however have an occasional problem starting it. 80% of the time it fires and starts right up. 10-15% of the time it starts after 5-6 cranks. 5-10% of time it would not even crank for like 5-10 times I try, and then it finally starts. I have just changed the plugs, but noticed a very little difference. What might be the possible causes of such behavior? Just some ideas from where to begin would be really great, Thanks!

Not saying that is your problem, but I am having similar issues with mines especially on the colder days and I know for sure that my starter is bad. Just a few days ago it got chilly here and when I turned the key it sounded very nasty (starter would engage partially and then stop). Turned the key again and it did the same thing, then again quiet nothing. Then it finally started the next time try.
