Noise from Glove Compartment
Hey guys I need your help.
Everytime I turn on the engine I hear a buzzing sound coming from (or around) the glove compartment area. It's been happening more frequently than before now.
There are several ways to eliminate the sound 1) hit the glove compartment cover (with your hand) or 2) open and then shut the glove compartment door or 3) turn on the headlight. I try one of these options to stop the noise.
Does anyone know possibly what the cause of the noise is? My guess is maybe it could be the passenger side airbag system. *shrug*
I'm hoping that whatever this is ...it will be covered by my extended warranty.
Thanks

It might be the ABS doing it. My car did that for a while and then stopped once my ABS light came on (coincidence?).
I still haven't gotten it checked out. I heard it costs alot of money to fix. Ankiigirl knows whats up with that. I'm not looking forward to it. ![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Shouldn't it be covered by my extended waranty?? I bought my 97 TL used but I bought an extended 3 year waranty package.

I know Han, ABS has saved me too. I'm waiting to hit 70K and get my timing done also. I hate going to the dealer so I'd rather do it in one shot. If they want $1500-$2000 to fix like Ankiigrl said, its staying broken.
TommyTL, warranty will cover it.

No we mean ABS as in Anti-Lock Brake System. A few of us have heard a buzzing sound that goes away when the ABS light comes on which indicates something is wrong. I dont remember exactly what it is, but its expensive. If you have a warranty, go to the dealer. I wish I did.

I think that buzzing is normal. It's about 1 second, right? Notice it only does it when you start moving after you start the car. It's either the ABS or AirBags arming.

I reall think its the left headlight that is giving up. Cuz when i start the car there is no left headlight on ...but when i turn the lights on the buzzing stops. Might be something to do with some of the relays. I dunno
