No oil in the engine
No oil in the engine
I last changed my oil 3000k miles ago.
I was checking my engine today and the dipstick showed no oil. I checked it few times and surely there was no oil in the engine at all.
This car was sitting in my driveway for 4/5 days.
There's no sign of oil underneather or on drive way.
Since last oil change, I drove the car 3k miles, so the guy definetly put oil in it.
What could it be?
I just put 4 qts of oil and dipstick reads it ok now.
Am I in for so $$$ down the road?

You put 4 qyarts in and no it is in the right spot? Between the lines?
Just because the dipstick doesn't show any oil, doesn't mean it is completely empty, just not high enough to register, it could be just a 1/2 quart low from the bottom line. I would be worried about it being over filled now. I would drain it, and fill up (I forget how much it takes).
Having the car sitting won't use any oil, unless you have a leak, but it doesn't sound like you do, or like you said, you would see it on the driveway.
