Hmm, well, congrats on the new TL, hopefully it will treat you well.
There is a sticky up in the top of this forum with common problems, you can read through that and then if you have any more questions feel free to ask.
Theres nothing too serious problem wise, the ones off the top of my head are:
-slow/sometimes squeaky windows (fixable)
-D4 light in instrument cluster burns out (fixable, I did a write up on it)
-wind noize from windows (no fix)
-starter problems (some people have this, some don't)
Mind asking how much you payed for the TL?

i too am a new owner. i just bought a 1996 TL 2.5. i like it. it has 105k miles on it and seems to run just fine. i have found just a few things that i need to sort out. i could post them on here if i don't get em soon. i need to find out about a tuneup....whether it's had one or needs one. i'd rather not have to shell out the money for one, but if it's what it takes, then so be it. i don't want a bad water pump either. ahoy all!

BTW...we ask this all the time for the new owners. How much did you get it for?
You should check to see if the car has had it's emissions tune-up. Oh yeah, you should sign up for owner's link. You'll find out recall information on your call and stuff like that. Here's the link owner's link

well i got the car for $5,950 plus tax/title, etc. which was like 287. so it was pretty good in price and what not. HOWEVER, i just found out that most likely i will have to change the timing belt and water pump...along with radiator flush and maybe tranny flush. i don't know the previous maint. stuff on the car, and there is no sticker to indicate that it was alrady changed. plus i'm at the 105k mark anyways....so i doubt it was. so that's $1100 that i may have to put into it. but i'm settling with an insurance company so maybe i can get them to flip the bill for it...but not sure.
they are going to do whatever tune-up and emission stuff they need to at the time they fix all that other stuff. they aren't going to do the plugs or oil change, i can handle that stuff.
i did sign up for owner link just last night but there really is no information about my car...so i'll have to add it as i go. one thing i do know is the previous owner's name and that the front rotors and brakes were done at like 78k miles. but i may just replace those soon with x-drilled so that really doesn't matter. but acura is going to check it all out for me so that's good. thanks for the warm welcome! much appreciated.
