New Member w/ Questions...

Hi all....

Found this forum after looking for some answers... (isn't that usually the case?)

Any rate... I've got a 97 2.5TL and have recently gotten it back from the body shop after an accident. Not a pleasant experience (the accident... or the aftermath)...

I have found 3 things that the body shop "failed to fix"... and will be talking to them tomorrow. However, if I can get any of them fixed before then... that would be less hassle on my end (I think).

1) Sticky Accelereator pedal. Basically, the darn thing sticks when you initially apply pressure after a stop. My initial guess is that its either something to do with lubrication or that the pedal is getting initially caught on something. Among the three, this would be the one that I would rather have the shop fix.

2) Cruise Control doesn't work. I cannot set Cruise at all... and I know that the Cruise button is pushed in. Maybe there is a fuse that needs to be reset or replaced ?

3) Radio will not reset. When I bought this car used... I never got the owner's manual. But, I did get the card that has the code for the radio. I have tried several times to reset and activate the radio with no luck. Again... could this just be a case where a fuse needs to be reset (I know that power is reaching the radio, since I can turn it on and get the Code.e error).

Any help on these matters would be appreciated..

Thanks,

Jeff

as for pedals, mines are KINDA sticky but yeah, id get the pros to do that for you, since they are ASE certified or whatever.

as for the cruise control, mine did work but somehow it doesnt work anymore. maybe its the way i set it up or what i push b/c i remember it working whenever i pushed something. i just can't get it stright. try reading your manual or so. i never used it so i didn't really care.

as for the radio, have you tried taking off the terminals off the battery and putting it back on? that usually resets it. (oh by the way, i just reread your post and you dont have a manual, ill look it up for you later about the cruise control) anyway, yeah try taking off the terminals off the car battery and putting it back in. i took out my radio long time ago but im sure there is a TINY hole...either in the front or the back of the radio where you can insert a sharp object like a safety pin or something to reset the radio. good luck and let us know how it goes!
