New to 1st gen TL's.

Just picked up a semi clean 1996 2.5tl premium.
My plan is VIP styling.
-I'll be working on getting ground effects
-jdm window visors
-paint the headlight housings black and add 8k HID.
-nightshade tint the tail lights darker.
-I got materials to make a custom rear window spoiler
-Got accord eibach pro springs already (haven't installed)

I am quite surprised this platform doesn't have a lot of aftermarket parts and accessories.

Yeah, its not that bad at all. Everything still works. No check engine light. D4 light is the only problem I have experienced in the tl.

Daoshao: look at my signature for expected probs with the car lol

As far as VIP style, good luck. If you're planning for the deep dish wheels for the VIP look, you'll need to custom your fenders. Oh and air ride would compliment your VIP look as well. Welcome aboard, homie.

There are a few threads mentioning 94-97 accord springs will work on 2.5tl's.

not hating here, but you're not gonna be "vip status" with just springs lol but like TLballer mention, gonna need to dump that bish with at least coilovers along with some fat lip wheels

Get going on teh VIP thing and post a lot of pics please. Not much action happening with the 2ng Gen nowadays, but I kid you not, people keep on asking what year is my car and what is your car...

Yeah, the springs and kyb struts are temporary till I save up for a nice suspension system. There are not many nice 1st gens left in Minnesota. I considered picking up a 2nd gen but the transmission problems are too great of a risk. My wife had a prelude auto with the same type of tranny problem. I did not want to go through that again.

My TL is debadged....I have been asked many times what model it was. People are really surprised when I tell them it was a 96 tl. Hell, even I was surprised it was a 96 when I picked it up. Glad I saved it from the. Previos owner. He had some 22 inch rims on there. Yuck.
