Need Dig and Roll Tips!

Okay guys and girls. Haven't had much time or road to try stuff out as I live down town. But I was wondering about useful tips to get the best out of roll and dig races on a 1st gen 3.2TL(Premium w/TCS) ?

Roll is your friend. Going from a roll means you don't have to suffer as much for the heft of our cars since we've got momentum already, and you can leave it in a gear to take advantage of your powerband. I usually raced from a 50-roll to 100 on the freeway, 30-roll to 70 or so on the street (big boulevards only). Going from a dig, hold the brake while in D3, and feather the accelerator to around 1300 RPM. This preloads the drivetrain, although you don't have to really worry about breaking anything. When the light turns green, release the brake and go about half to 3/4 throttle until the RPMs build up. After that, full throttle all the way. In both cases, have TCS turned off. Good luck.

Good stuff Go90 Thanks! Ahh makes sense about the TCS! I always felt something was limiting the expected power to the wheels when I flow it! When is the best time to shift to D4 from D3, close to hitting redline in D3?

Yes, but most races are over by 3rd in a 4-speed auto. After 100, the stock motor/tranny is horrendous. Almost no acceleration at all.
