I just bought my 96 2.5 and I have upgraded the speakers and installed a new head unit. I used a wiring harness for installing the new deck, so I didnt touch the stock wiring. Everything was good for a couple of weeks, then one day, I went to drive at night and my headlight switch turned on the wipers, and no headlights. It also made both turnsignals stay on and the windshield wiper switch turned on the fog lights. I thought my fuses may have been bad, but they were all fine, however after checking them all the above problems are fixed, and now the stereo dosent work or the clock in the dash. the stereo has power and a solid ground, and the stock one dosent work either. this is were Im at now, any help would be wonderful. sorry for the long description, but I thought as much info as possible would help.

 

the clock should be another fuse and for the stereo did u take it out and check the fuse on the back? The cd player doesnt work at all or there is no sound?

 

Yeah, I checked the fuse on the cd player, and neither the stock one or my new one will power on, even though I tested the wires and its getting twelve volts and has a good ground.....so im at a loss.

 

wait the headunit wont turn on at all? because if it turns on and the speakers have no sound you fried your internal amp...

 

neither one will power on, like the car isnt on, but the wires get power to the harness.
