At my work i have access to-15w40 10w40

The brand name is long rider made by royal purple yeah i no it sounds like some type of sex lube but we have some extra and i also need an oil change.

I have an oil leak also thought that maybe the thicker stuff would stay in better

I wouldn't use either, unless you are burning oil, then you can use 10w-40

at 236k miles i use 10w-40 mobil1 synthetic with a quart of lucas.

What would 15-40 do to my car would it help with the oil leak.

And 10-30

I would use the 10w-40. The 15w is only heavier when cold, and you're going to get a hit in mileage with the heavier weight oil.

I made a mistake on the weights there is only 10w-30 and 15w-40 is the 10w30 still good to use for my car.
