Every time I start my 1996 2.5 it makes a weird burp sound for like 2.5 seconds. Sounds like a suspension air compressor of some sort that would be on an older Town Car..

Anyone ever heard this??

It's the ABS modulator doing a self-check. Nothing to worry about.

What about if it does the self-check a few times after startup, such as when stopping at a light after driving?

Mine does that occasionally, but if it keeps on doing it, say consistently 2 times every 5 minutes, you're looking at a rather costly replacement. Desired_speeds just disconnected his so he wouldn't hear it again, ever, haha.
