hey wassup guys... i think my muffler is going bad... it makes a deep VROOOOOM sound when i accelerate... is that the muffler going bad??? what are signs of a bad muffler.. thanks alot!!!

 

Its possible, but I'd check the flex joints. Most likely you'll have to get the pipe from the catalytic converter to the muffler replaced. That cost me $94 at Midas.

 

your baffles could also be going out on you. that's what happened to mine.

 

might just be a hole or a disconnect somewhere in your exhaust system. the sound is no longer muffled and you hear it louder. if thats the case might not be that expensive. put it on a lift and inspect it from begining to the tale pipe.
i had same problem. loud noise "vvroooooooom". found the hole, cut it out and put in new pipe from resonator to muffler only $20.00. now its dead quiet.

 

yup i got it fixed at the junk yard for $25.00.. there was a hole in the pipe right behind the muffler... funny thing is.... i went to midas... MOFOS wanted to change everything from mufflier all the way to cat converter.... they were quoting me 480 plus tax.. i told the guy "bring the car down im outta here" then he goes on to tell me... "the regular price is 680.. im giving you a 200 break" i went to junkyard on sunday and the guy there todl me everything is fine in the exhaust.. only that little hole which i got fixed for 25 bux.... called midas headquarters and filed a complaint saying their franchisees are lieing to customers regarding their vehicles...
