Motor Swap Question for TL-S

I may have access to obtaining a 2001 TL-S Motor and Tranny, including the Harness with 8k-10k on it. I was wondering if it would be possible to install that in my 2.5TL. I know my car is slightly shorter than the 3.2 version. But was curious about doing it. I will be getting the TL-S rims and tires as well, and need to swap out the hubs so that I have the 5-lug pattern to mount my wheels. Is that also a big job. Do I need to make a major conversion to have 5 lug on my car or is it just a matter of swapping out the hubs in the front and swapping out the rotors and bearings in the rear.

Thanks Guys!!

Hmmm! that sounds mighty good tho! but I'm afraid you will have a hard time wedging the engine in...and trying to stick the radiator into it. but i hope it can be completed! hah! i want to see a first gen with a type s motor. oh yeah..BTW...the Type S only came out in 2002...not 2001. just hope he ain't giving ya a TL-P motor.

This probably doesnt give you any indication of whether it'll work or going rates but I know a guy who put a 2000 TL-p engine in his 93 Legend and he was only selling the car for like 11 grand. This was also about two years ago.

2g's!!?? Is that guy smoking some sh!t. No no no, it should never cost that much. For that much I could get a tranny conversion. as for the engine conversion dude, just go to your local mechanic and ask if he'll do it. My uncle is a mechanic and does this sort of rarity thing all the time. If you go to those popular import shops and don't know the peeps there, then you're looking at big money.

If one was to do a tranny conversion.... what part would you use? a newer Honda part or a Vigor tranny?

2 g's is alot but it isnt bad for a 4 to 5 lug conversion...do you know the amount or work that has to be done to put them on and make them work its not just taking parts off and replacing with others... you might have to replace driveshafts axels ect ect

The amount it is going to cost you will probably be less if you traded in your car and bought a new 2003 TL-S and paid the difference. It would be sweet to see a 1st GEN TL with a TL-S engine and 6-speed manual gear box. Definately not worth your money.

well i did check into a NSX engine swap into my 3.2 cause UNX97 had brought that to my attention and the swap is going for around 2 g's... the tranny u should get it from a legend cause those manuals are more tighter with less slip... expect to spend some money on the bolt conversion tho cause that is a very hard job... wish u could just crazy glue on another lug and make it easy as that but nope its never like that... hehehehe
