LED's

If I use LED's for replacement bulbs do I have to do some sort of conversion to my headlight sockets or the wire harnesses, or do they just pop right in. I do not know much about LED's

Thanks

Hi,
I didnt know they make Leds for headlights. Are you sure?
Led technology cant compare to Halogens and Hid in terms of brightness yet.
If you mean parking lights and blinkers, it is a direct fit.
However, if you're going to use led for the parking lights, its a bad idea because its not even as bright as the regular 192 bulbs. When used as a parking light, the light emitting out is one directional. I mean if you stand on the side and look at it, it will be very, very dim. You can try it. Maybe mine sucks.

Now if you're going to use it for blinkers, now that is bright. You're going to need somekind og regulator to slow down the blinking time. With the led installed as a blinker, it blinks real fast. They call this hyper blink.

For brakes, if you want to use it for brakes, you will have to get a module that will draw more power than the led is needed. You see, the regular brake bulbs take more power than leds. The car computer is programmed to detect the power the regular bulbs consumes. Now since leds take less power to light it up, it will trip the computer and the car computer will turn on the brake warning light. This is a stupid way that they use to detect blown out brake bulbs. It is obsolete because nowadays because we now can use led bulbs that are brighter and more effificient than regular bulbs. Obviously, Acura didnt predict we'd use led at all.
I wonder if the third generations do the samething?

Ways to fix the brake light warning light wen useing leds.
1. Remove the instrument console like you would to change the D4 light.
Find the brake warning light panel. Then in the back of it is a light bulb socket.
Just remove the light bulb. Now it wont light up, done.

2. You can buy a module that takes in the alittle more power than the led to simulate the regular bulbs. The porblem with this method is that it waste your power.

3.
This is what I did,
I mad 3 holes the size of my led bulbs on my taillight.
I tap into the brake light wires and use it to power the 3 led bulbs. Now I have 4 led brake light bulbs working simultaneously. It is f***ing bright as hell.
It works great with no warning light because the 4 led bulbs now consume roughly about the same power as the regular bulbs. I think its the best method because it doesnt waste energy and is alot brighter so that it can scare away people who tail gate you. Hope that helps.
