LED Gauges (Link)
I saw these pics on the Legend forums
They arent very clear.. but if you've ever seen LED gauges up close.. you'll know they look classy. I'm hoping to get some step by step details on how he did it on the Legend.. and that will give us a guide on what to do for our TL's

yes please. I just had the opportunity to tear out my whole entire center console because I spilled a full cup of SUnny Delight onto it. Tore the whole damn thing apart just to not be able to clean the shit all out! I just sprayed a bunch of LithiGrease in there and called it a day. But back to the point... Tearing out the dash shouldn't be that much harder. There is already a full on kit available somewhere for about $50 I think. A couple of people have done it already. There is a DIY somewhere. Good times.

sorry no i dont have any pics. you can also change your climate controls, sunroof button, mirror button, basically any button you want to led, all you gotta do is buy the led [2 specific sizes] and solder a resistor on it... someone did a right up on this a long time ago... crap wait... ill go take pics of the remaining led buttons i have on still.
the color i choose was violet/black light and blue. the reason why i change most of them back to stock is because they started to flicker off and on and eventually died out and another reason is it was very dim due to that led shoots to a point while the stock blub "sprays" out the light
for the gauge cluster, just take out the cluster, look for the 168/192 wedge style blubs and change those to the wedge led ones or colored 168/192 bulbs... i did both ways and eh, wasnt really happy with the turn out. if my memory serves me correctly, i think there was around 5-6 bulbs

kinda looks like a newer style guages ala 3G TL?
HI folks,
I just started to noticed something about my gauge and was wondering if yours were like mine. Is it suppose to be normal?
What I noticed was at night, the RPM and the thermometer needle doesnt light up. And its hard to see the little white needle. But for the speed and gas part, the needle is lightup. Is this suppose to happend or my light bulb have blown out?

I assume its normal as its always been like that
Ken, no need to get an RL. A lot of Hondas are having those gauges now...like the Accord and Odyssey:
Here's our Ody's gauge:
You open the door...

Put the key in...

Turn the ignition on...

Turn the ignition off and arm the security system...

u are talking about hot spots from the LED.. i see it in ur shifter.. if u have that problem that means the LED u got is not a wide enough angle... but usually to fix that, just sand the top of ur led with sandpaper to make it flat.. will disperse the light better...
btw.. 5 bulbs... i put the 6th one in the trunk...

I've seen all of the LED Honda gauges (except the Odyssey) for myself, they look amazing.
I like the Accords and RL's the best.

Mine is somewhat like that. I can still read the tach and temperature gauge but its not light up like the right hand side of the cluster.
Here's a thread where two people did two different things with the guage lights: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109927 Mongoose posted a guide about it but it's still not very clear to me.
I really want to do that mod as the TL's gauges are the worst I've ever seen in a car (hell, even our old 92 Camry had better guages) and I hate reserve glow guages. It's surprising because a 96 Accord had LED guages (which look really nice) and you'd think the TL would get it too as it's a more expensive model based with many relations with the Accord.
J-Spec, that looks really cool... too bad it didn't work out.:-(

The '96 Accord never had LED's.
The only Honda/Acura in 1996 that had LED's was the RL.
BTW, the TL actually has very little in common with the Accord. Its a strange lovechild mixture of a Vigor, Legend and an RL.

did you disconnect the bulbs that shine onto the guages so you can see the needles?

oh and yeah i took out the 2 lights on the top
When I had "white" leds from superbrightleds in my parking lights and turn signals, they had a slight blue and were not pure white like I had wanted.
In the pics of your newly revised gauges, they look solid white, is this the camera or are they really that white to the human eye?
