Unhappy Lacking...

I'd compare how my car drives to like...trying to breathe through a tiny straw, if you get what I'm saying. It just feels like it has to try too hard to get up even to a minimal speed. Does anyone have any ideas of why this is?

I know what you mean because I have the same problem at times. I believe that it is something that has to do with the transmission, either something needs to be changed or the transmission is just going bad.

Do you mean before you did those things? The only thing i havent done from that list is the valve adjustment. I've done the trans and differential.

Assuming you did a thorough tune up and replaced fluids and the car starts well and goes through the gears (automatic?) while accelerating, you might be expecting too much from this car. Quick or fast the 2.5TL is not. It is an aging near luxury car that is comfy and handles okay and has a bit of passing speed. When I was younger this car would not have satisfied me because I would -stupidly- race anything and anybody up for a run. You'd have to sink a lot of money into it to make it substantially faster, especially since the aftermarket for it sucks. I wish I could find a decent rear sway bar for my 2.5. Anyway look elsewhere for a sports car.

I'm not wanting a sports car. I just feel like my car doesnt have enough...power? I'm not sure what it is. Maybe after I make the other under the hood repairs this will change.

I've done the regular tune up, but I know there has to be something else holding it back. I mean I know its not supposed to run like a brand new car, just not as bad as it is now.

Maybe this will help. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...909#Post293909 Follow the links. I've used this product in several cars and it helps them to run smoothly by cleaning valve train and ring packs and to recondition seals. This allows the engine to run efficiently.
However, if the tranny is shifting okay, then low power still sounds like a spark or fuel delivery problem. May have to take it to a shop to get it diagnosed. While I think I can do a perfectly decent tune-up, when it comes the more difficult stuff I let the genius mechanics at Westlake Honda/Acura Idependent fix it for me.
